Shuckers Prevail, 7-5, Over Mobile
Spirited fans greeted the Mobile BayBears for their clash with the Biloxi Shuckers.

The Biloxi Shuckers picked up a win at Hank Aaron Stadium, taking down the Mobile BayBears, 7-5. Starting pitcher Randy Smith was a big reason why. Picking up the save was Tommy Booth, his 2nd.

Biloxi needed the clutch hitting of Ernie Brewster to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shuckers on top, 5-1. For the game, Brewster had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Randy's as tough as he is talented," said Biloxi manager Michael Barrett.

The Shuckers raised their record to 24-39.
