Jackson Gets 7-5 Win
|
Due in large part to right fielder Bryan Emery, the Jackson Generals sunk the Biloxi Shuckers, 7-5. Emery went 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Stu Brown got the win, improving to 4-6. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Jackson has won 3 straight, while Biloxi has lost 3 in a row.
Jackson used the hitting of Lanny Vaughan to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Generals on top, 3-1. For the game, Vaughan had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Emery.
