Lookouts Get Hard-Earned Win
The Chattanooga Lookouts had to overcome a fine effort from Jackson pitcher Jimmy Smith to win, 5-4, in 10 innings at The Ballpark at Jackson. Smith went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Duane Hutchins got credit for the save for Chattanooga. It was his 3rd of the year. The victory gives Chattanooga a record of 32-19.

Chattanooga used the timely hitting of Jesús Rodríguez to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lookouts on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Rodríguez. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
