Pensacola pitcher António Rumbo did his part in helping his team beat the Jacksonville Suns, 1-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Rumbo. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Alex Carter. The win for the Blue Wahoos raised their record to 29-16.
The Blue Wahoos got a big at-bat from first baseman Chris Chase. For the game, Chase was 1-4 with a double. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Pensacola a 1-0 lead.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Rumbo told the Pensacola Times. "Whatever it takes."
