Jackson pitcher Steve Medina had a large part in his team subduing the Biloxi Shuckers, 7-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The second-place Generals have won 8 in a row.

Hugh Herring had a big 2-run double for the Generals in the top of the sixth inning. With Jackson leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 24-year old center fielder Jared Younger and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Generals ahead, 5-2.

"Everybody is chipping in right now," said Herring. "That's what makes it so much fun."
