Biloxi catcher Juan Castillo had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Castillo went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as Chattanooga beat the Shuckers, 7-6, in 10 innings. Chattanooga reliever Lou Plummer got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Max Lee was tagged with the loss. The victory makes Chattanooga 11-16.
Jud Holland drove in one run for Chattanooga. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Max Lee. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
Holland called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."
