Qian-hua Yap, who is tied for 3rd in the SL in quality starts with 4, had a strong outing for the Jackson Generals against the Tennessee Smokies at The Ballpark at Jackson. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Yap picked up the win for Jackson, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. The Smokies drop to 13-13 and continue their mediocre start to the 2025 season.

Jackson took the lead, 5-2, on Alex Stanton's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Tennessee pitcher Randy Byrd in the bottom of the seventh.
