The Texas Rangers racked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, bumping off the Kansas City Royals, 5-1. Iván Galló, who started for Texas, pitched effectively for his team. Texas goes to 3-0 with the win.

Shigenobu Ito had a big 2-run home run for the Rangers in the top of the first inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from former first round draft pick Ken Walker and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 3-0.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Ito.
