Montgomery took on Jackson in front of a lively crowd.

The Montgomery Biscuits licked the Jackson Generals, 10-3. Danny Phillips deserved a big chunk of the credit. The designated hitter went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Biscuits. Jesús Fernández earned the win, while former first round draft pick Steve Medina took the loss for Jackson.

Montgomery used a well-timed hit by José Pérez to capture the win. The catcher socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Biscuits ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Phillips. "It sure beats the alternative."

The win puts Montgomery at 8-9.
