The Mississippi Hammers racked up a win at MGM Park, bumping off the Biloxi Shuckers, 5-0. Spencer Adams, who started for Mississippi, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Adams. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Sam Tait. Now 3-13, the 2026 Shuckers have sputtered in the early going.

The Hammers got a big at-bat from catcher Elton Burton. For the game, Burton went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Mississippi a 2-0 lead.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Hammers manager Chris Herrmann.
