White Sox Drop Angels, 3-2

The Los Angeles Angels inaugurated their 2026 season with a tough 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Starting Pitcher Mike Kelly had perhaps the best performance for Chicago. Kelly yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-0.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by Addison Russell to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the White Sox ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
Russell called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
