Shuckers Earn Late 1-0 Win
The Biloxi Shuckers, behind a great outing from Lúcio Pérez defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 1-0, at MGM Park. Tommy Booth snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Gene Allen suffered the loss. Cedric Young, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

Had Kurt Lambert not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Lambert hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Shuckers.

"We were trying to do a difficult thing -- winning a game without scoring," said Tennessee manager Kevin Riggs. "That's not going to work out."

Tennessee now has a record of 7-6.
