Brewers Send Missoula Home with 4-2 Loss
Helena Brewers starter Jerry Ross pitched effectively against the Missoula Osprey at Kindrick Legion Field. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 4-2 win. Ross, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Helena goes to 31-40, Missoula to 18-53.

José Valdéz took Missoula hurler Jake Lewis deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Brewers on top, 3-2. In all, Valdéz had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Jerry was really attacking guys' weaknesses and he didn't leave a lot of balls over the plate," said Helena field general Daric Barton.
