Biloxi Loses, 2-1, in 14
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Biloxi Shuckers home opener. Ken Greenwood started for the home team against Ben Lake for the Montgomery Biscuits. The Shuckers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 2-1, Montgomery, in 14 innings. Ben Lake, though, was impressive.
José Pérez had a direct impact on the outcome. Pérez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put Montgomery up, 2-1.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Preston Guilmet, the Montgomery skipper.
