The Chicago Cubs beat the Miami Marlins, 5-3, at Wrigley Field. Rob Snyder, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jon Hall, credited with the win in relief, is now 12-6. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Orlando Romero notched his 44th save in 47 chances.

Snyder had a timely hit for Chicago in the bottom of the seventh. With Chicago trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 2-run double. It was his 43rd double of the season, making it 4-3, Chicago.

"It was a good effort all around," said Snyder.

Chicago is now 74-84, while Miami is 68-90.
