In a low-scoring game between Texas and Philadelphia, pitcher Chris Kohler was excellent. The Texas left-hander helped his team knock off the Phillies, 2-1. Earning the save was Jorge Gonzáles. He's now cashed in 14 of 15 save opportunities. Texas is now 77-79, Philadelphia 92-63.
Texas used the timely hitting of Grabiel Jimenez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rangers manager Rick Renteria, "I like our chances."
