Guardians Earn 6-5 Win Against Royals
The Kansas City Royals could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Colin Rodgers into a win. Instead, the Cleveland Guardians prevailed, 6-5, in 10 innings. Rodgers threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. Jose Y. Nunez picked up the win in relief. Ken Giles took the loss for Kansas City. Today's win puts Cleveland at 60-86, while Kansas City falls to 77-69.

The Guardians got a clutch hit from center fielder Joe Young. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Guardians.

"Our team found a way to get it done," said Young.
