Mets Win at Cincinnati, 5-3
|
New York Mets starter P.J. Burton found his groove in his team's 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Travis Ballew, credited with the save, is now 18 for 22 in save opportunities. New York, with the win, is 50-93.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Deron Fernández, the former first round draft pick . Fernández contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put New York up, 5-0.
"P.J. had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said New York manager Raul Dominguez.
