Diamondbacks Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
|
Arizona beat Los Angeles at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Jorge Aguilar. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Dan Caine got the save, the 2nd for him this season. Arizona has now won 5 straight, while the Angels have lost 3 in a row.
Aguilar had a timely hit for Arizona in the top of the eighth. With Arizona trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Arizona.
"We have some nice rhythm to our lineup right now," said Arizona manager Jake Mauer.
