Arenado goes 3-for-3 to Fuel Giants Offense
|
A good performance from third baseman Nolan Arenado helped the San Francisco Giants defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-1. Arenado went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Giants. The save was credited to Pat Henderson, his 36th. The triumph puts San Francisco at 80-62 for the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dominic Smith? The San Francisco first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Giants on top, 3-1. For the game, Smith had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Giants manager Travis Fryman.
