Brewers Win, 10-4, at Toronto
|
Gavin Cecchini was a major factor in the 10-4 Milwaukee win over Toronto. The Brewers shortstop went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times. Milwaukee leads the National League Central Division by 7 games.
Steve Sanders had a big 2-run double for the Brewers in the top of the third inning. With Milwaukee leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a forkball from Vince McSweeney, who is tied for 6th in the AL in innings pitched with 172.2, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brewers ahead, 3-0.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Sanders. "I just want to win ballgames."
