The Boston Red Sox withstood a fine game by Pittsburgh right fielder Yasiel Puig at Fenway Park, to upend the Pirates, 8-7. Puig went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. With the victory, the Red Sox upped their record to 78-59.

Cole Tucker was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Red Sox designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Tucker said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
