Padres Lose to Mariners, 6-5
|
The Seattle Mariners cut down the San Diego Padres by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Ryan McMahon. McMahon was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Mariners. After today's action, Seattle sits at 68-64; San Diego slips to 64-68.
McMahon had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Domynguos Venegas, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Mariners a 6-5 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for McMahon.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," McMahon told the Seattle Times, "and we played pretty well tonight."
