Firebirds Beaten By Guardians, 1-0

The Cleveland Guardians eked out a 1-0 win versus the Atlanta Firebirds at Progressive Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Sandor Visser. He was terrific. In 7.2 innings, Visser surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Sergio García, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Guardians had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when shortstop Juan Martínez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Kevin Key and made the score 1-0, Guardians. Martínez was 1 for 4.
"That's baseball," said Atlanta manager Barry Larkin. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
The Firebirds have now dropped 5 straight.
