Reds Suffer 8-2 Home Defeat
Milwaukee Brewers starter Daryl Scott pitched a strong game against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park, leading the Brewers to victory, 8-2. The first-place Brewers, at 65-57, lead the National League Central Division by 7½ games.

Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Jorge Gutiérrez to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Brewers on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Said losing manager Julio Vinas: "We need to play with more of an edge."
