Angels 3-1 Winners Over Los Angeles

In a low-scoring tilt between the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers, McKenzie Mills, who is tied for 9th in the AL in wins with 10, was the difference-maker. The Los Angeles left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Mills, now 10-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The Angels, at 80-41, have a comfortable 17-game lead in their division.
The Dodgers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Angels going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder Luis Roa came to the plate. Roa hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 curveball from Los Angeles hurler Hector Jimenez. It was Roa's 1st home run of the year.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia.
