The Houston Astros topped the Boston Red Sox, 7-6, at Minute Maid Park. Houston third baseman Steve McGuire was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Houston reliever Jesús Mejía snagged the win, upping his record to 2-8. Tristan Robinson shouldered the loss. The victory puts Houston at 46-73.

Jorge Gonzáles was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Astros second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Gonzáles said.
