Guardians Victorious at New York, 3-1
|
The Cleveland Guardians picked up a win at Citi Field, taking down the New York Mets, 3-1. Starting pitcher Hunter Harvey was a big reason why. Heath Hembree finished the game for Cleveland and earned his 20th save. The last-place Guardians have won 4 consecutive games.
Cleveland used a well-timed hit by José Álvarez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Guardians ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Harvey.
