The Boston Red Sox defeated the Minnesota Twins, 11-1, at Target Field. Leading the charge for Boston was designated hitter Xander Bogaerts. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. Boston used a well-timed hit by Yoan Moncada to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
