Joe Washington had a big 2-run double for the Royals in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Kansas City leading 7-6 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Rémi Blondel and swatted a double to center. It was his 30th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 9-6.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Washington said.
