Angels Take Tight Tangle
The Los Angeles Angels picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, taking down the Miami Marlins, 2-1. Starting pitcher McKenzie Mills was a big reason why. The winner was Darren Watkins in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Dominic Leone took the loss. Héctor Rosado, who finished 2nd in the AL in saves with 34 in 2024, earned the save for Los Angeles.

Had Starling Heredia not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Heredia hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Angels.

Heredia called the win "a team effort."

Miami's current losing streak is now 5 games.
