Reds Win, 4-2, Versus New York
|
New York got a terrific performance from pitcher Kyle Crick, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cincinnati Reds. Cincinnati won the Citi Field contest, 4-2. Crick threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Cincinnati reliever Julius Taylor picked up the win, upping his record to 7-5. Travis Ballew absorbed the loss. Anthony DeSclafani recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 20 for 22.
Jake Bauers had a direct impact on the outcome. Bauers contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-2.
"I really like what we did out there today," Bauers said after the game.
Cincinnati has 3 straight wins, New York 3 straight losses.
