The 5-2 Texas win over Los Angeles was due largely to Chris Moody. The Rangers first baseman went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chris Wynn claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 2-2. Lou Green was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 26 save opportunities.

Jim Rivers dealt the Angels a blow in the top of the second. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Texas leading 2-0, Rivers hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
