The Minnesota Twins got a stellar effort from pitcher Adys Portillo, helping Minnesota score a win over the visiting Chicago Cubs, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Portillo, now 9-3. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. With the win over Chicago, the Twins improved to 46-48.

Minnesota took a 3-1 lead on Magneuris Sierra's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sierra hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Matt Harvey visibly frustrated.

"Feels good to get the job done," Sierra said after the game.
