The Houston Astros faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Sandor Visser, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Minute Maid Park by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Visser went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. José Morán snagged the win in relief. He goes to 6-7 on the season. Jesus A. Sanchez suffered the loss. The Astros now own a record of 38-55.

The decisive blow was delivered by José Villarreal in the bottom of the fourth when he hit a 2-run double off fireballing right-hander Sandor Visser to win the game for Houston. The home crowd went nuts.

"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Villarreal, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
