Reds Double Up Miami, 6-3
|
The Cincinnati Reds locked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Miami Marlins, 6-3. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Dave Parsons. He played a major role in the triumph. The 4th-place Reds now sit at 42-49.
José Parra had a big 3-run home run for the Reds in the bottom of the second inning. With Cincinnati leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Ben Anderson, who is tied for 8th in the NL in wins with 8, and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Reds on top, 6-0.
Said Cincinnati manager Julio Vinas: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
