Red Sox Take Tight Tangle
The Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Boston Red Sox beat the Colorado Rockies, 9-8, in part because of left fielder Jim Williamson. He went 5 for 6 with a home run and 4 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Boston reliever Terence McCray snagged the win, upping his record to 5-3. Adrián López shouldered the loss.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Williamson hit a forkball from Adrián López for a run-scoring single. The Red Sox, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It was a test of wills," said Alvin Morman, the Boston skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."

Boston has now won 3 in a row.
