The Atlanta Hammers defeated the New York Mets, 7-6, in 12 innings. Much of the credit belonged to center fielder Tyrone Hanna, who went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Hammers. Atlanta is now 39-52, New York 41-50.

The Hammers got a clutch hit from left fielder Esteban Vázquez. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Hammers.

"It was a test of wills," said Vince Harrison, the Atlanta skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
