Astros Take Tight Tangle
Vince McSweeney, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a 1.10 WHIP, propelled his team to victory over the Colorado Rockies. The final score was 6-5, Houston. Lachlan Madden picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Dave Kirkpatrick suffered the loss. At 36-50, Houston is in last place in the American League West Division.

José Villarreal went 1 for 5 for Houston. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Dave Kirkpatrick. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"Feels good to get the job done," Villarreal said after the game.
