The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Houston Astros, 2-1, in National League action at Minute Maid Park. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Luis Ramírez. Mike Morin got the save, his 26th in 30 chances. Los Angeles, at 63-22, is 18½ games up in the National League West Division.

Ramírez, the winner, is now 7-0, after putting the clamps on the Houston offense. In 7.2 innings of work, he gave up no runs on 2 hits, while collecting 7 Ks.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Los Angeles manager Torey Lovullo.
