San Francisco pitcher Marco Gonzales did his part in helping his team beat the Atlanta Hammers, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Gonzales yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-3. Getting the save was Pat Henderson, his 19th.

Corey Seager had a big run-scoring double for the Giants in the bottom of the sixth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from fireballing right-hander Rudy Thomas and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 3-1.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Gonzales. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."

San Francisco now sports a record of 41-43.
