Phillies Lose to Astros in Walk-Off
|
Fans who congregated at Minute Maid Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Houston Astros topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-2, in 10 innings at Minute Maid Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Houston pitcher Vince McSweeney. Jesús Mejía picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-7. Mike Morin suffered the loss.
Houston got a knockout punch from Lane Thomas. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This game had its share of tense moments," McSweeney said, postgame.
The Phillies, at 43-38, have lost 4 straight games.
