The Houston Astros knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-4, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. Houston pitcher and Seattle, Washington, native Blake Snell had an outstanding performance. Lachlan Madden recorded the save, making him 7 for 11. Houston is now 33-47. Philadelphia is 43-37.

Claude Spears, who is tied for 8th in the AL in bases on balls with 33, aided the Houston cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
