White Sox Suffer 4-1 Road Loss
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Rogers Centre, knocking off the Chicago White Sox, 4-1. Starting pitcher Chris Sale played a key role in the triumph. Sale, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. José Amaya recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 2 for 4.
The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from designated hitter Rintaro Ikeda. For the game, Ikeda went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Toronto a 2-0 lead.
"I thought Chris threw the ball well across the board," said Toronto manager José Soto.
The triumph puts Toronto at 44-33 for the season.
