Down Goes Milwaukee, 4-1, to Chicago
|
The Chicago Cubs defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-1, in National League action at Wrigley Field. Chicago pitcher Jose Paulino had a standout performance. Paulino picked up the win for Chicago, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-4. Orlando Romero picked up his 18th save of the season.
Chicago designated hitter Dan Williams contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 39th hit of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 1-0.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Paulino.
Chicago has now won 3 in a row.
