Pirates Come Up Short at Chicago, 2-1
Chicago Cubs starter Keury Mella pitched a strong game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field, leading the Cubs to victory, 2-1. The loss makes Pittsburgh 34-37.

Miguel Angel López took Pittsburgh hurler Luis Gallegos deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Cubs on top, 2-1. In all, López had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Mella. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
