Mets Tagged with 6-2 Loss
|
Seattle Mariners starter Luis Fernández was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the New York Mets, 6-2. Eddie Muggleston earned the save for Seattle, his 3rd of the year. At 31-35, the Mariners claim third place in the American League West Division.
Chris Bryan, who is tied for 8th in the AL in stolen bases with 10, aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with a double.
"Luis is still learning," said Mariners manager Jeff Banister. "The sky's the limit for him."
