Giants Rally Late to Nip Nationals
|
Norm Harris left his imprint on the 5-4 San Francisco win against the Washington Nationals. Harris, who finished 5th in the NL in stolen bases with 36 in 2024, went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. San Francisco reliever Chet Greene picked up the win, raising his record to 3-3. Dominic Bingham was tagged with the loss. San Francisco is last in the National League West Division with a record of 30-37.
San Francisco got a knockout punch from Thom Williams. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It was bedlam at the end," Harris said.
