Brewers Get Close Win Over Cardinals
The WL Brewers downed the WL Cardinals, 5-4, at Crush Stadium. Emir Topaloglu led the way, going 2-for-3 for WL. WL reliever Nelson Hernandez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Diego Cordero absorbed the loss. Even with the win, the Brewers have a dismal 6-16 record.

The Brewers got a big at-bat from catcher Johnny Gibson. For the game, Gibson went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave WL a 5-4 lead.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gibson.
