Twins Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Red Sox
|
WL got a terrific performance from pitcher Tony Nava, but it wasn't enough to beat the WL Twins. WL won the Ballpark of Lorenzo contest, 3-2. Nava was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Miguel De Jesus got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. WL has now won 3 in a row.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With WL trailing 2-0, Josue Matos hit a sinker from José Muńóz to left-center for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Twins had a walk-off win.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Matos told the WL Daily News.
